The documentary of street people in Calgary, Alberta. Approximately 4000 people in Calgary are homeless or in need of public services. During this project, I discovered new ways to interpret many things, especially streetpeople. I was welcomed into their lives, and was susceptible to their way of thinking and living. I tried to free my mind of all the previous teachings, instead of judging, I looked at how inhabitants of this subculture live, how they interact, and what they do to survive. It was totally different from any life I had lived or seen before. These pictures are a small part of street life. The people in this book aren't here to teach you about life on the street, they are here to teach you about life itself. There is no manipulation in any of the photos, no angle to push the viewer in any one direction. None of the subjects were told to do anything or instructed to act a certain way. It was left up to them to tell their story, to let their true human nature come out for you to whiteness. These pictures are meant to give you an opportunity to look into another life without having to make a choice to help or not. It gives you the chance to observe like I did, free of societies guidelines and recommendations.
